What to Expect from Us
During the investigation, we are looking to capture anything out of the ordinary that we cannot define by any normal means. We use professional equipment including, but not limited to, Electromagnetic Field Detectors (EMF), which measure the electromagnetic energy in the air. This goes along with the theory that spirits are energy, so any spikes in this reading that are not given off by anything natural could be a clue to something paranormal. Also there’s EVP, or electronic voice phenomenon, recorders which pick up disembodied sounds, or sounds that the human ear cannot hear or did not hear at the particular time of the recording. Infrared Video Cameras, Digital Cameras, and everyday things like flashlights, notebooks, etc., are other things we use. Check out our "Equipment" page for more detailed descriptions.
After our investigation, our team will review all of our evidence to see if we found anything paranormal. We will also do some research on the history of your home/business to see if anything that happened in the past could be affecting what you are experiencing now. If it is concluded by us that you have paranormal activity in your home, we will then advise you as to what steps may be taken to rid your home of the activity, if that's what you wish.
Step 1: Contact Goosebumps Paranormal Society. We will contact you within 24 hours, usually much less, of receiving your e-mail or voicemail.
Step 2: The initial visit. We will set up an appointment to meet you during daylight hours or a time convenient to you to discuss your needs. An investigation date may be set during this time. During the initial visit we discuss your needs and the problems you and others are having. Also during this time we take notes, record the interview and tour your home/business and find the "hot spots" we need to investigate.
Step 3: Prepare for Investigation. Now it's time for you to help us by removing any pets from the location if possible at least an hour before we arrive to investigate. In order to do a successful investigation, all distractions must be removed. Residents may stay in the household but must remain out of investigating range and remain quiet at all times.
Step 4: The Investigation Night. The GPS Team members will arrive an hour before investigation time to allow time for set up walk through's and preparation time needed in order to conduct a successful investigation. We normally start our investigation about 10pm and conclude at 2am, depending on the case, but we'll be happy to work with you on a different time frame if needed. We will respect your home and business and cannot be held responsible for any damages or accidents resulting from paranormal activity while investigating. We are professional and caring. If we cannot help you, we will do our best to find someone who can.
Step 5: Evidence Review. Our team will review all of the evidence from the investigation and report to you via phone or in person to share what we may have found and ways to help, depending on the case. We can also set up an Evidence Review Meeting with you after the team has reviewed all evidence and have decided on our final conclusions and present you with a full written report if you wish.
Step 6: Follow-up Visit/Call. After we investigate and share any evidence, we will provide follow-up phone calls to ensure all is well. We are available for advice and help anytime.
